Ultherapy: a non-invasive alternative to surgery
Unlike surgery (facelift), Ultherapy enables you to resume your regular activities immediately following the procedure. No special post-treatment care is necessary.
What is Ultherapy?
While some might argue that lines and wrinkles are the well-earned marks of experience, few would disagree that loose and sagging skin can make us look tired and worn. Though little can rival the dramatic results of surgery, there is a new non-invasive procedure called Ultherapy that uses ultrasound waves to counteract the effects of time by tightening and lifting facial skin tissue.
The beauty of this procedure is its regenerative effect as it gradually restores memory to the skin and underlying tissue, working literally from the inside out.
How is it different from other treatments?
Ultherapy is the only skin rejuvenation treatment that uses ultrasound technology to image and treat the skin. Being able to rely on proven technology to see beneath the skin while treating it helps ensure safe and satisfying results.
While patient tolerance for the procedure tends to vary from person to person, you may require local anesthesia. Many patients describe the feeling as a slight pinpricking or intense burning sensation under the skin. This is simply the heat from the sound waves being transferred to the tissues to uniformly tighten your skin.
What can I expect after treatment?
You will be able to return to your regular activities right away and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear slightly flushed or puffy after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within a matter of hours.
Is the procedure safe?
Ultrasound energy has been used in medical applications for over 50 years and clinical studies have confirmed the safety and efficacy of this latest application.
As with any medical procedure, there are general safety considerations that the technician will go over with you.
What kind of results can I expect?
With the very first treatment, the regenerative process is initiated, with the full effect building gradually over a period of two to three months.
In clinical trials, nine out of ten patients experienced a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line, resulting in a more open look and a younger overall appearance.
Patients also noticed tighter, firmer skin on other parts of their face and neck. There is no replacement for the dramatic effects of surgery, but this new non-invasive approach can significantly firm and tighten slightly to moderately loose skin.
Am I a good candidate for this procedure?
If you have loose or sagging skin that appears dull, you may be a good candidate for Ultherapy. A hooded brow bone or droopy eyelid, for example, is often one of the first telltale signs of "aging" skin.
- Developed from a medical technology used in oncology, Ultherapy is the only skin rejuvenation treatment that uses ultrasound waves to image and tighten skin.
- In a manner similar to an ultrasound imaging, Ultherapy makes it possible to view instantly the targeted zone and adapt the treatment according to the patient's needs.
- Penetrates deeper than all other available treatment options
- Stimulates the production of new collagen
- Causes: the underlying tissue to naturally lift, revealing tighter skin
